Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Claims Shared on Instagram

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

Police Reports Currently Unavailable

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
