Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate placed a embargo on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" associated with the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
